Understanding that collective efficacy is one of the most effective ways to increase student learning, Boti Collective offers modules designed to support educators and students in their learning journey as they work to improve their instructional practice in the core areas of literacy. A formative evaluation process is used, so teachers and students are able to track their learning growth.

Minilessons are short whole class sessions designed to share the day’s learning intentions and success criteria for reading and writing workshop

Minilessons offer a segment for clear interactive instruction and formative assessment, while also ensuring students have sustained periods of time to engage in reading and writing work.

A balanced literacy approach offers students instruction in a variety of settings and styles -Interactive read aloud, shared reading, phonics, word work.

Balanced literacy is much more than a reading/writing workshop or isolated skills. Understanding how the components work together to support one another as a symphony is key.


 

WHAT ARE THEY?

Joining students where they are allows for individualized instruction on a student's own learning progression, and sends the message that their reading work is important.
